The end of a lease term requires that you have your vehicle inspected and returned to any INFINITI dealership, but depending on how you want to complete the process, there are more financing options than that. You have three basic choices for ending your lease: You can buyout your lease, you are able to return your lease, or you can return your lease and select another vehicle by taking advantage of our new lease specials. WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR TURNING MY LEASE IN?

When you’d like to turn in your lease, your vehicle needs to be inspected by an authorized agent. Once this has been done, handing over your lease will simply require that you complete some paperwork about the vehicle.

DO I HAVE TO RETURN MY LEASE TO BERMAN INFINITI CHICAGO?

You can actually return your leased INFINITI vehicle to any INFINITI Dealer, regardless of where you leased it from originally. However, we suggest that you visit Berman INFINITI Chicago as we provide excellent service to our valued customers.

SHOULD I BUYOUT MY LEASE?

Opting to buyout your lease could be a great choice. Compare all lease end possibilities to ensure you find the right vehicle, and are happy with your decision. Typically, the end-of-lease buyout price will just be any residual value on your lease contract; it’s up to you to choose whether the residual value is a fair price that you can pay. It’s important to consider whether or not you would pay that price for a different used car of precisely the same mileage and equipment. WHAT IF I PREFER TO END MY LEASE EARLY?

If you’d like to end your lease before its scheduled termination, you’re able to buyout your lease anytime, or you can actually trade-in your car whenever you want. If you want to turn your vehicle in early, you will only be responsible for any remaining payments on your lease*. WHEN DO I NEED TO HAVE MY VEHICLE INSPECTED?

It’s recommended that you have your INFINITI vehicle inspected within the last two months of your lease. This will make sure that you have sufficient time to schedule repairs on the vehicle, should there be any required maintenance.

WHY CAN’T MY DEALER CARRY OUT THE VEHICLE INSPECTION?

Only authorized agents can perform end-of-lease inspections, but if you can return your vehicle to Berman INFINITI Chicago at the conclusion of your lease, we will contact an authorized agent who will perform the inspection.

HOW LONG WILL THE INSPECTION TAKE?

The inspection of the car should take approximately one hour, unless there’s an excess quantity of problems with your vehicle.

DO I NEED TO BE PRESENT THROUGH END-OF-LEASE INSPECTION?

While it’s not a necessity that you be present for the inspection of your vehicle, we do strongly suggest it. If you are at the vehicle inspection, you are able to better understand the assessment results, along with any charges that might apply. In addition to this, you will need to sign off on the vehicle report that the inspector produces and get a copy of the report at that time.

STEPS TO COMPLETE YOUR LEASE RETURN

If you choose to return your INFINITI or replace it with a new one, please follow these simple steps:

1. SCHEDULE YOUR PRE-RETURN VEHICLE INSPECTION:

Call the Alliance Inspection Management Center (AIM) at 800.253.9026 or visit https://selfschedule.aiminspect.com for a complimentary, but required, vehicle inspection. INFINITI Retailers are not authorized to perform this inspection, any requests sent, written or verbal, will not be accepted in the termination process.

An AIM, certified inspector will provide an assessment copy of chargeable wear-and-use (if any), along with a Notice of Option to make repairs prior to return.

2. DECIDE IF YOU WANT TO MAKE REPAIRS:

If excess wear, and use, is discovered during your inspection, you have the option to repair your vehicle before returning. You may want to consult with your insurance agent to determine what is more beneficial.

3. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR INFINITI RETAILER:

Please contact your local authorized INFINITI Retailer 30 days prior to your maturity date to return, replace, or purchase your lease.

4. COMPLETE A FEDERAL ODOMETER/LEASE TERMINATION STATEMENT AT THE RETAILER:

Federal and State law require a signed disclosure of your vehicle’s mileage. This document is also necessary to process the termination of your account, and will serve as your receipt for the return of the vehicle. Be sure to request a copy of all documents for your records.

5. SATISFY ANY LEASE LIABILITY FEES/CHARGES:

If applicable, you will receive an End-of-Lease liability statement four to six weeks after the vehicle has been returned to your INFINITI Retailer. The statement will detail any current fees/charges remaining, including a disposition fee of up to $395. You may receive subsequent bills after this liability statement that may include, but are not limited to property tax, parking tickets; toll violations, etc. that occurred during the time you were in possession of the leased vehicle.

6. ADDITIONAL CHARGES:

Exceeding your total mileage allowance will result in additional charges. Please refer to your lease contract to review all its terms and conditions.

*Loyalty waiver applies up to 30 days after lease termination. Eligibility is determined by leasing or purchasing a new, unused, and unregistered INFINITI vehicle financed through IFS. The registered owner’s name on the current lease, must be the same as the registered owner of the new INFINITI, or held in joint ownership. Customers must satisfy all obligations to IFS in accordance with their current lease agreement. The excess wear-and-use waiver does not apply to excess mileage fees. See Retailer for details.
